• Stored locally on your device
• Not transmitted to our servers
• Used solely for calculating prayer times

2.2 Device Information

We may collect:

• Device type and operating system version
• App version and usage statistics
• Crash reports for improving app stability

2.3 Notification Preferences

We store your notification settings locally to send prayer time reminders.

All personal data is stored locally on your device using secure storage mechanisms. We do not transmit your location or personal information to external servers.

The app requests the following permissions:

• Location: To calculate prayer times based on your geographical position
• Notifications: To send prayer time reminders
• Background Tasks: To update prayer times automatically
• Internet: To fetch prayer time data and updates

6.1 Foreground Service Usage

This app uses Android Foreground Services to ensure reliable and timely delivery of Islamic prayer time notifications. Specifically:

• Type: dataSync and location foreground service types
• Purpose: To continuously monitor prayer times and deliver accurate adhan (call to prayer) notifications at the correct times, even when the app is not in the foreground
• User Benefit: Ensures you never miss a prayer time notification regardless of device state or battery optimization settings
• Data Handling: No personal data is collected or transmitted during foreground service operation. All processing is done locally on your device

The foreground service runs only when necessary to deliver prayer notifications and respects Android battery optimization guidelines. A persistent notification is shown while the service is active, as required by Android policy.

7. Children's Privacy

Our app does not knowingly collect information from children under 13. The app is suitable for all ages.

8. Data Retention

We do not operate servers that store your personal data. All data generated by the app is retained exclusively on your device for as long as the app is installed:

• Location data: Cached locally only for the current session to calculate prayer times. Not persisted beyond app restart.
• Notification preferences & app settings: Retained on-device until you clear app data or uninstall the app.
• Crash reports / usage analytics: Collected by third-party services (Expo, OneSignal) and retained according to their respective retention policies (typically 90 days). See Section 5 for links to their policies.

We do not retain any user data on our own servers. There is no server-side retention period because no personal data is transmitted to us.

9. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access your data stored in the app
• Delete your data by uninstalling the app
• Disable location services or notifications at any time

10. Data Deletion

Because we do not store your data on our servers, there is no server-side data to delete. You can remove all locally stored data at any time using either of these methods:

• Uninstall the app — permanently removes all locally stored data (location cache, settings, notification preferences).
• Clear app data — go to device Settings > Apps > Anbariya > Storage > Clear Data.

Requesting deletion of third-party data: If you wish to request deletion of any data held by third-party services we use (OneSignal, Expo), please email us at farooq.ummar@gmail.com with the subject line "Data Deletion Request". Include your device type and approximate date of app use. We will forward your request to the relevant provider and confirm once completed, within 30 days.

11. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy in the app and updating the "Last updated" date.
